Agadir-Chegaga 4 days/3 nights,”Authentic Desert”
Day 1: Agadir- Taroudant – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Agadir-Chegaga Authentic Desert: Breakfast and departure to Ouarzazate and southern Morocco, via Taroudant. Visit of the city, one of the oldest in Morocco, which has kept intact the character of its past. You can admire its typical handicrafts in the souk. Then, the road continues to the place of lunch. Where you will visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon we will continue to Ouarzazate where you can visit the city. Installation, Relaxation Dinner, and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Ouarzazate- Agdez – Zagora – M’hamid
In the morning, departure in 4 × 4 to M’hamid through the N’Tinifift Tizi. Moreover the Draa Valley, and its thousand and one kasbahs along a palm grove for over 200 km. On the way, visit the kasbah of Tamnougalt and passing through the Draa palm grove, then we will join the main road to Zagora. Visit the Kasbah of Amzrou and the village of Tamgroute known for its green potters’ cooperative and its old library with books from the 11th century. We will take the road back to M’hamid, where you have an appointment for a camel ride to reach the camp and enjoy a beautiful sunset in the desert. Dinner and night in Berber nomad tents.
Day 3: M’hamid – Chegaga
After breakfast, depart in 4 × 4 to cross the desert: sand dunes, Oasis, Hamada … to the big sand dunes of Chegaga, the biggest sand dunes of Morocco. Lunch under the shade of palm trees and tamarisk trees, in the company of a nomadic family, if possible. In the afternoon, we will continue the track to reach the camp and get a taste of the real nomadic life, with all its secrets. Dinner and night in tents or under the stars.
Day 4: Chegaga – Agadir via Foum Zguid and Taroudant
After breakfast. Depart to follow the track between the Erg Chegaga, Taliouine, and along the dry bed of the Draa through Lake Iriqui. Then by Foum Zguid and beyond by road to Taznakht (optional stop in a cooperative of carpets of different types in the region). After lunch, we will take the road to Taliouine, famous for its saffron. Then join Taroudant, also known as the little Marrakech with its red ramparts and souks. Then return to Agadir at the end of the day.
